I had some oral surgery done. A root canal that had to be re done. All you moms out there (and moms to be), make sure your kids are getting the fluoride they need. It really makes a difference, I can see it in my kids. They never have dental problems. I am going to take a little rest and talk to you tomorrow!

The trees are really dancing in the wind today. The season is changing before our eyes; do we really see it? As I read past blogs in November and remember the season change from fall to winter, I think how delicious! What a treat we have here in Utah, four distinct seasons. Sometimes I find myself looking forward to the next one and missing the one we are in. So today I will rock Abby by the window and we will talk about how the spring wind is making the trees dance.

Why do I miss my mom so much today? My thoughts keep coming back to her. I was telling Abby about my mom; she was just confused. Someday I will tell my granddaughters about their great grandma and they will love her as I do. Someday.

Again with the food! Has anyone ever been to a little Mexican place called El Farol? It is in Midvale. Though we have seen it move from south state to Holiday and now it's currant location. The food is delicious and because it is little known, there is never a wait. I love to try new places, Miguel doesn't. I would love to hear all your favorites. I was just thinking ... some of your least favorites might be fun to hear about, too.

Lately I can't get enough of a snack I learned about from a blogger pal ( she doesn't even know me, but bless her heart this snack is a good one!) You take semi frozen mixed berries and pour Coffee Mate french vanilla on top. Oh my they're good.

COCO CRISPIES: I consider them a treat, really; not so much a breakfast option. If we are talking healthy cereal I would have to say a granola type. Wow I want some of that delicious chocolaty goodness now. Good thing I try to not buy it!

Birthday to my baby ANDREA. Let's see what can I tell you about her that won't make her too mad? When Andrea was little she loved me more than life its' self. We were connected at the hip and enjoyed each others company very much, but she also loved to have a good fight with me sometimes. Usually, when she got really mad at me, she would run away from home. Don't worry too much, she only ran to the front yard and camped out under our big pine tree. She would pack a bag with her treasures and almost always an umbrella. I don't know maybe she thought if it rained she may not be able to make the six steps back home. As this shows she was quite dramatic and I loved that about her. She was also quick to show affection to those she loved. She would light a room the moment she entered. As others have mentioned, Andrea is blessed with the gift of being a natural nurturer. I am so lucky to be her mom and want her to know I love her very much.

ALISON KROUSE: I bet that is spelled so wrong, but I don't want to check the spelling. Crystal, Andrea and I went to her concert in 2000 at Red Butte Gardens. It was one of those memories you will never forget. Her voice bothers some people (Shonnie), but I find it lovely.

BLACK JACK: It is hard to find sometimes. I found it at CAL RANCH in West Jordan. The licorice flavor is "yummy" ( I really hate that word!) If you have never tried it, you should.

CAMELOT: I do love so many musicals, but my favorite is good 'ol King Arthur. High school is when I first fell in love with Wart, the simple and reluctant king. His ability to look beyond his own broken heart and see the bigger picture made him special to me. The music, done by Rodgers and Hammerstein, is beautiful." It's May", is my favorite song. Best quote is "... Some of them do sparkle".

On Crystal's list, TODAY'S FAVORITE... DOG

I'm not sure if she ment breed or dog I have owned. I am going with dog I have owned. Disclaimer: I love my beagles, but I'm going to go a little farther back in time. The year is 1978. I found a little Yorkshire Terrier wondering down State Street. It was raining wildly and the poor thing looked like a drowned rat. I took her home and dried her off and brushed her hair. I put an add in the news paper and when nobody claimed her, she was mine. I named her Raspberry because that is about how big she was. My little Razzy went with me everywhere in my blue Volkswagon. We were best buddies and she came right at a time in my life when I needed a best buddy. Nothing tops a cuddly dog when you are feeling down. Every dog I have had since has been loved, but Razzy was a favorite.

THE SETTLERS OF CATAN: This is a game Paul and Anna introduced our family to. We have spent many evening playing this fun game. Usually we have a big group. Lately however, it has been quite a challenge with all the "little ones". So now our get together fun is usually just watching them.

LUCILLE: My mom's big sister, what a character! She was extremely smart; I believe she began collage at age 14. She was very committed to equal rights for women. As a member of NOW (National Organization of Women) she was arrested for protesting in the 1970's. She was quite eccentric. She didn't throw anything away; she reused or refurbished everything. This was back before it was cool to be 'green'. Almost forgot, my favorite Lucille fact. She had a dog that was half German Shepard and half wolf. She named the dog Susan B. Anthony of coarse.

EUGENE. I have a few memories of my mom's brother coming from San Diego to stay with us for General Conference. He was probably the most spiritual male I had in my youth. I loved the calmness he had about him.

TODAY'S FAVORITE... VACATION

Most of our vacations center around soccer tournaments. We have seen soccer fields all over the western United States. One of my favorites though is a tournament we went to in Denver, Colorado. What a beautiful state. We drove there and went right through the Rocky Mountain National Park. At one point we were at such a high altitude there were not even any trees. Amazing sight! The city it's self was lovely as well, very clean and pleasant. Disneyland and such are great, but I very much enjoy a great National Park!

Strawberry Shortcake: I can't see her and not be transported back to age 24. A young mom of two cute little girls who loved Strawberry Shortcake. They could say all the words to their favorite episodes. Sounds corny, but what a simpler time. I just threw away tons of old videos, but couldn't bring myself to throw away S.S.

FALL!!! It has long been my favorite time of year. I like the colors associated with it. I like the smells that come with it. I enjoy the holidays during fall. I like my annual visit to Tai Pan with Crystal and Andrea ( I don't know why we don't go other times of the year, but we always end up there in October).
