34 days to go

99/66
I took Chelsea to Provo after work tonight. She has a writers workshop to attend at the university, bright and early tomorrow morning. She is staying at the La Quinta tonight. After getting her checked in we went for a dip in the pool and had a relaxing time in the hot tub. Then we had a little dinner together. Then I drove back home. I am so proud of her for accepting her teacher's suggestion to attend this conference. I know girls her age who can't go to the restroom alone. Chelsea is there, all on her own. I know she will grow from this experience.

I think most people can be put into one of two categories. One group craves "chewy" snacks, the other, "crunchy" snacks. I belong to the second group.

It is time for my daycare license renewal. I am up to my neck in preparation for my LOVELY licensor's visit. So my blogging will be paying the price for now. Wish me luck!

I am still exercising (yuck). I am also lifting weights for my arms. You have my permission to ask to feel my muscles; they are pretty amazing! Oh yea, don't mess with me- right Chelsea?

I get really nervous when flying in an airplane, everyone fights not to sit by me. Imagine that!

I love the circus, my dad would take Paul and I when we were little. I was always a little embarrassed of the skimpy outfits the ladies would wear. My dad would make it even more scary by making it seem the high wire people really might fall to their deaths at any moment. Tonight we went to the circus with Addy; I tried to stay calm because she was already scared enough. Nobody fell to their death or anything.

Tonight we bought witch hats and gloves for Anj, Crys, Chel and I. Now we just need good reason to get all dressed up and wear them.

Conference is in the air! I love general conference; especially the fall one. When I was little my mom would have it on in every room of our house. Marrion G. Romney was one of her favorites. I miss my mom. She has been dead for a year now, and life just goes on. How can that be? What a random entry.

Miguel and I helped evacuate a sanctuary/farm in the Harriman fire. The flames were coming down the side of the hill right next to the Ching Family Farm. We were herding goats onto horse trailers, corralling pigs into crates and carrying geese to safety. When the flames were too near the owners yelled out in desperation to just open all the gates so the animals could escape on their own. Then they said for everyone to get the heck out of there, it was every man for himself. What a night!

ENDLESS SHRIMP!!! We wait all year for it. As a family, it is right up there with Christmas. Again, Red Lobster has made my day.

You know what really bugs me? People who can't find an address without "google map" and, or GPS. Really, if you can't find an address here in Utah with just the cross streets, you are a tourist. When people start telling me the step by step details how to find their house, I pretend I'm listening. Really though I am thinking, "you are so silly". You had me at the address.

Still exercising nightly; how long does it take to create a new habit?

50 days to go

In high school I had a motorcycle. It was a Kawasaki dirt bike, my best friend and I rode it everywhere. Once we rode it to a football game at Highland High. It was quite daring of us since neither one of us had a motorcycle license. When we took it up to Star Valley we could really relax and just go everywhere, since the sheriff didn't care. He actually told us that!

I hate to exercise. I have never enjoyed it (obviously!) I do understand it's importance so I have decided to "just do it". Please don't ever ask me how it is going or look at me to see if there is a difference yet. Just know as soon as I am done blogging I will be doing something I wish I wasn't!

I have had two people I know mention the word "suicide". What the heck people, things are not that bad! As I stated before, I am not an optimist, but there is a limit to how pessimistic we should allow ourselves to be. Don't make me sing..."the sun will come tomorrow".

I love old things. When I buy something old, I like the idea that it had a life before I got it. I like to think about the stories it might have to tell. I am sure many people would disagree, saying brand new is better. Oh well...

I love to go eagle watching. Miguel is my partner in this, we drive south on highway 89. One trip we actually saw 14 Bald Eagles. Usually around Panguich we will see several. What is interesting is seeing all the cars buzz by; they have no idea the just missed seeing a national treasure.

When I was little, my big brother used to play basketball over at our ward. It was so fun to go with my mom to watch him play. I was just a little kid since he was about 15 years older than I. I do remember feeling so happy that he wanted me to go watch him. I still look up to him, he is a great example. He is also one of the funniest people I know. He always has great stories to tell about his years in law enforcement. I love my brother Jim.
